Notes

Notes from Dead Lists:
The 1st set SBD master is defective and is not widely circulated.
Probably they stopped this set short to solve the technical problems
that plague the whole of it. The second set intro goes
"Once again and without interruption, the Grateful Dead."
The 2nd set tape was among the first early Dead SBDs in circulation.
Turn On Your Love Light fades down incomplete on the circulating tape.

This is a really rockin' "Lovelight". What a find. Too bad for the cut, but what we have is a real gem.

Subject: Awesome 2nd set.
Don't bother with the first.

Subject: less is more
I'm listening to I Know You Rider. A few seconds ago I was listening to China Cat Sunflower. When China Cat 'ended', there were almost two seconds of silence while the player advanced to the next track. Is this really necessary?

How many people will download or listen to Rider without China Cat, and visa versa?

Subject: Avery Green Label
Not sure who picked through this tape or where the Green Mountain Brothers came from, but the highlight of this recording is "High Time" and Pigpen's Fender Keys are really present as here grooves.

For 1969 it is perfect, so I am hopeful the full surfaces.

This may have been a party for the "Drug Store Truck Driving Man" aka Ronald Regan.
